Happy 21st @mizz-undastood! :}

Man’s modern consciousness is his prison. He is perpetually trapped between the anxiousness and the restlessness that dominate his thoughts in an increasingly fragmented world. He craves the solitude like a lone wolf that howls to the moon—it’s a sigh of relief from the cold.

"Never love a wild thing, Mr. Bell,’ Holly advised him. ‘That was Doc’s mistake. He was always lugging home wild things. A hawk with a hurt wing. One time it was a full-grown bobcat with a broken leg. But you can’t give your heart to a wild thing: the more you do, the stronger they get. Until they’re strong enough to run into the woods. Or fly into a tree. Then a taller tree. Then the sky. That’s how you’ll end up, Mr. Bell. If you let yourself love a wild thing. You’ll end up looking at the sky."

~ Truman Capote, Breakfast at Tiffany’s: A Short Novel and Three Stories

"Not just beautiful, though — the stars are like the trees in the forest, alive and breathing. And they’re watching me. What I’ve up till now, what I’m going to do — they know it all. Nothing gets past their watchful eyes. As I sit there under the shining night sky, again a violent fear takes hold of me. My heart’s pounding a mile a minute, and I can barely breathe. All these millions of stars looking down on me, and I’ve never given them more than a passing thought before. Not just the stars — how many other things haven’t I noticed in the world, things I know nothing about? I suddenly feel helpless, completely powerless. And I know I’ll never outrun that awful feeling."

Young, wild, and free. First Clas$y Ladies Night of 2012

"The problem facing modern man now is compounded by the increasing power of technology and its misuse by those in power who wish only to control. The mentality of people who are motivated by profits at the expense of human needs is perfect for the computer. Computers are completely rational. They save time and money. They can keep records of every transaction. Money is the opposite of magic. Art is magic. The worlds of art and money are constantly intermingling. To survive this mixture the magic in art has to be applied in new ways. Magic must always triumph."

Piecing together that peace of mind while the smoke spirals into the night. Let it breathe into these old, weary bones.

I just finished calculating the units I need left to graduate, and I’ll be done after Spring quarter. Hopefully, I can walk the stage in June. (Especially since Jonathan Franzen is the keynote speaker!!!) It’s exciting to be moving on with the next steps in my life—whatever it may be. Hard work pays off… I have to keep believing that.

Best Female Rapper In the Game Right Now: IGGY AZALEA.

Aside from being very easy on the eyes, Iggy is quite lyrical. And by that I mean her word-play and delivery combined puts her on the top of my list (excluding our artist, SIYA). For many, she came out of nowhere with dope visuals for songs like “PU$$Y” and “My World.” But to industry insiders, Iggy has been grindin’ for a nice lil minute. I first met her in Atlanta in 2009 - and besides being seemingly nuts, she’s incredibly intriguing and pretty hilarious.

If she continues on the path she’s on, she could be around for a while. And these producers she’s working with are perfect for her sound, which is the perfect combination of Atlanta/South (heavy 808), Cali swag, Houston and New York - much like Harlem newcomer ASAP Rocky, she fits in ANY region. Which will be crucial to her success. And after she blows, something tells me A&Rs are going to be traveling to Australia to find the next Iggy.

Download her debut mixtape, Ignorant Art HERE.
